RSA Accredited Courses

AlcoCups have partnered with Access All Areas Training to provide certified online RSA training (excluding Vic and NSW).  Access All Areas Training  provide national RSA courses to some of Australia’s largest organisations. They are recognised as leaders in delivering online and classroom based RSA courses.

AlcoCups and AAA Training will be offering classroom based certified RSA courses nationally in 2015. (Please note, Vic and NSW can only obtain RSA via classroom learning due to state regulations.)

Training for Uni RA’s/Student Leaders

Training increases student leader’s abilities to deliver information to fellow residents and students. Training, delivered over 3 hours, is innovative, interactive and informative, focussing on alcohol and drug topics.

Topic areas for alcohol include Standard Drinks, Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.), Alcohol Statistics, Harms and Risks of alcohol (using Fatal Vision Goggles). Topic areas for drugs include the 3 Drug Categories, Symptoms of drugs, Different types of drugs (cannabis, ecstasy, ice, GHB, pharmaceuticals) immediate, short and long term effects of illicit drugs, what products are used to create drugs and the effects on the body.

Training accommodates a maximum of 50 participants, with student leaders participating in numerous interactive activities throughout the training. Activities include standard drink pouring, understanding B.A.C., harms and risks of alcohol using the Fatal Vision Goggles, Drug categories and types, what are illicit drugs made from.

Train the Trainer Alcohol Education Program for Uni Residential Leaders (RA’s)

The Train the Trainer alcohol education program provides student leaders with further training to deliver a 1 hour alcohol information session to fellow residential students. The TtheT is a peer to peer approach aimed at changing alcohol culture on campus.

The training duration  is 3 hours, focusing on strategies, methods and activities for delivering a 1 hour alcohol information session to fellow residential students. Furthermore the training provides Student Leaders with numerous activities which can be implemented into events and functions. Activities enable Residential Leaders to add value to events and shift focus from alcohol consumption whilst educating students and residents about alcohol.

Some of the activities include 3on3 soccer tournaments and MarioKart on the Nintendo Wii competitions where students must wear the Fatal Vision Goggles while competing. For further information regarding these activities please contact AlcoCups directly. 

Specialised training facilitator’s pack, consisting of a USB with manuals, activity outlines and resources, are also available and highly recommended (at least 2). Each facilitator’s pack is $22.72 each (ex GST).

AlcoCups provide ongoing support to each residential college and university post the training.

The training duration  is 3 hours, focusing on strategies, methods and activities for delivering a 1 hour drug information session to fellow residential students. Furthermore the training provides Student Leaders with numerous activities which can be implemented into events and functions. Activities enable Residential Leaders to add value to events and shift focus from alcohol consumption whilst educating students and residents about drugs.

Some of the activities include ‘looking after your mate obstacle course’ and the ‘dance floor scenario’ where students must wear the Fatal Vision Goggles while participating in the activities. For further information regarding these activities please contact AlcoCups directly.
