Alcohol & Drug Education Leadership Sessions:

Ideal for University Student Leaders Living on Campus

Training increases student leader’s abilities to deliver information to fellow residents and students. Training is delivered over 3 hours, is innovative, interactive and informative, focusing on relevant topics regarding alcohol and drugs.

Topic areas for alcohol include:

  • Standard Drinks.

  • Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.).

  • Supporting Sober Mates.

  • Alcohol Statistics & Trends.

  • Harms and Risks of alcohol (using Fatal Vision Goggles).

  • Changing Alcohol Culture.

Topic areas for drugs include:

  • The 3 Drug Categories.

  • Signs and Symptoms of Drugs.

  • Different Types of Drugs (cannabis, ecstasy, Ice, GHB, pharmaceuticals).

  • Immediate, Short and Long Term Effects of Illicit Drugs.

  • Products Currently Used to Create Drugs.

  • Changing Drug Culture.

Training accommodates a maximum of 50 participants, with student leaders participating in numerous interactive activities throughout the training. Activities include standard drink pouring, understanding B.A.C., harms and risks of alcohol using the Fatal Vision Goggles, Drug categories and types, what are illicit drugs made from.

The training focuses provides leaders with strategies, programs and activities for changing alcohol and drug culture to fellow residential students. Furthermore the training provides leaders with numerous activities which can be implemented into events and functions which reduce harm.

Activities include 3on3 soccer tournaments, MarioKart on the Nintendo Wii, Fatal Vision Goggle Olympics. For further information regarding these activities please contact ADES directly. 

All leaders receive 12 month access to the Online Facitiator HUB, which contains numerous activities, resources and support.

ADES provide ongoing support to each residential college and university post the training.
